HAVFORSKNINGSINSTITUTTET CASE STUDY

Masterloop is an IoT provider of the project of Havforskningsinstituttet, Norwegian Institute of Marine Research, which aims collecting data by fish mapping and fish registration. Masterloop’s solution includes a device for registering fish positions and lengths as well as RFID (Radio-Frequency IDentification) implementation for fishes. Moreover, Masterloop`s solution consists of web portal for visualizing fish releases, recaptures and movements.

Fishboard

A portable electronic device has also been developed by Masterloop for the purpose of recording statistical information of fish. The weather-proof fishboard is able to read miniature radio frequency identification (RFID) that is embedded in the fish. The information typically collected by the fishboard includes the length, weight and species of fish.
